Over the past year, I’ve attended a number of industry events, many of which centered on fleet safety. Based on the various topics debated at these discussions, it is clear the industry continues to be highly invested in keeping drivers safe and connected, and enabling fleet managers to proactively monitor and address driver behavior. Each of these issues are spurring investigations around the new EOBR mandate, CSA and HOS initiative, and subsequent implications to driver and fleet safety, which will carry over into the New Year.
In the quest to improve operations, reduce costs, and provide great customer service, fleet managers are constantly refining their fleet’s operations and looking for innovative ways to create increased efficiencies. After purchasing the most fuel efficient vehicles, hiring the most experienced drivers and making all of the obvious cost reductions – what are the next steps? How would you manage your fleet differently if you could see into the future?
