The American Trucking Associations’ team, once again, did an outstanding job of planning and executing the annual Management Conference and Exhibition. My colleagues and I found the educational sessions to be very worthwhile and, of course, we thoroughly enjoyed seeing so many of our customers and friends on the tradeshow floor and throughout the conference. We were thrilled that so many folks stopped by our booth on Monday, October 21to help us celebrate 25 years of serving the transportation and logistics industry.
This icing on the cake was learning that Omnitracs was one of four recipients of the 2013 American Trucking Associations (ATA) “Mike Russell ‘Good Stuff’ Image Award.” http://www.ttnews.com/articles/showtemplatemats2013.aspx?storyid=33264. ATA President Bill Graves noted that the award recipients were, “honored for their efforts to bolster trucking’s prestige in this country, ” and we could not be more proud of this recognition and more grateful to the ATA for recognizing our organization.
Omnitracs was selected for our recent proactive thought-leadership efforts to promote electronic logging devices. In addition to our active participation in a number of industry associations and regulatory advisory groups, we presented several webinars, positioned our subject matter experts to speak to the press and other audiences, and executed additional activities designed to educate the industry about this important topic.
“ELDs exist amid a complex landscape of rulemaking, mandate implementation, technical requirements and certification, and Omnitracs was able to provide reliable, current and easily understandable information to drivers, fleets and policymakers,” Governor Graves said.
We congratulate our fellow recipients of the 2013 award:
- Diversified Transfer and Storage
- The Colorado Motor Carriers Association
- Nevada Trucking Association
The award is named in honor of the late Mike Russell, the former ATA vice president of public affairs and is sponsored by TMW Systems.
