As National Truck Driver Appreciation Week comes to a close, the team at Omnitracs would like to take this opportunity to thank the men and women who deliver our essential everyday items, such as food and fuel. While we do design technology to help drivers complete their jobs, we also take great pride in speaking directly with drivers to help them solve problems and get back on the road.
When drivers need a helping hand, we’re happy to step up to the challenge. Whether it is replacing a faulty wire connection or locating and monitoring a stolen trailer in Mexico until law enforcement can recover it, we love working with drivers.
We also understand technology can be daunting but it’s important to coach drivers on how systems and applications work to help simplify their daily tasks. It’s one of our greatest pleasures to hear the excitement when a driver learns a new application and is able to more easily record hours and reach locations on time, without getting lost. Recently, we were able to direct a driver around Chicago’s rush hour traffic by locating his position based on the mobile computing unit’s latitude and longitude measurements.
America’s truck drivers endure long hours on the road, time away from their family and congested highways, all while managing the logistics of arriving safely and on time with their load intact. We’re honored to work with these impressive individuals and remain committed to supporting them every day with superior technology and customer support, so they can complete their job efficiently and safely.
In your travels or daily activities, I encourage you to extend your appreciation too. Give a handshake. Allow them time to merge into your lane. Simple signs of gratitude are some of the best ways to celebrate the truck drivers who keep our country moving.
