Technology, sales and marketing additions position Omnitracs for continued growth, innovation and market expansion

Omnitracs, LLC, a global pioneer of fleet management solutions to transportation and logistics companies, today announced enhancements to the company’s executive team. Appointed as chief technology officer is Kent Norton, who comes from the safety and productivity solutions segment at Honeywell as a technology and engineering leader. He is joined by Greg Nelson, Omnitracs’ new chief commercial officer, who most recently led global sales at Masergy.

As CTO, Norton will drive research and development, and product portfolio expansion. Driving business transformation through the integration of IT infrastructure, software and product development, Norton looks to improve growth opportunities for Omnitracs’ customers, and in the process, for Omnitracs itself. “I’m excited to be a part of such an exciting time in the industry,” said Norton. “Omnitracs’ thirty-year reputation for leadership and innovation provides a solid foundation to expand market opportunities for our customers — and serve them with an improved experience.” Norton brings many years of experience in technology and engineering, leading large-scale efforts in software development and cloud technologies.

As CCO, Greg Nelson leads Omnitracs’ sales, marketing and business development functions, focusing on revenue growth and customer success. He brings with him more than twenty years of experience building and leading sales teams and implementing go-to-market strategies in a number of technology- and services-related businesses both in the U.S. and abroad. “I look forward to further growing Omnitracs’ industry influence, accelerating revenue growth and exploring new opportunities for continued market expansion,” Nelson commented. “There is great potential in new markets for Omnitracs and our customers, as we say, ‘from the first mile to the last.’”

This new leadership announcement follows earlier news that Omnitracs welcomed Ray Greer as CEO and the company’s plans to launch unified, SaaS-based software platform, Omnitracs One. Norton and Nelson will be instrumental to the company’s vision and technology direction.

“Omnitracs succeeded in defining and leading the future of the industry thirty years ago when the company pioneered the fleet management software market,” Omnitracs chief executive officer Ray Greer commented. “The addition of such well-qualified leaders as Kent Norton and Greg Nelson to the Omnitracs executive team is further evidence that we remain committed to leading the way forward for the industry and creating new opportunities for the continued success of our customers in the first, middle and last mile segments — and any new industry segments we may look to explore.”
